MessageSensei,

Thank you for coming to Edmonton and teaching us the true wado way. The honours that you bestowed on us will not be forgotten.

The last couple of clinics with you have been unbelievable. Training on the same floor as you, seeing the lineage of karate living through you, is something I will never forget.

I am looking forward to your next clinic.
Anna, Thomas and I were honoured to have you in our home and looking forward to another visit the next time you come.

Best Regards,
Dallas Wilm

MessageGood day Sensei,

Just a note to say thank you for everything you are doing for all of us here in Edmonton.

My son Patrick and I attended your clinic on the 26 to 29 of Sept. 2008 where you shared with us things that are very special to you, and now they are very special to us. I will do my very best to preserve them for the future.

Thank you Sensei.

P.S. My wife Maria asked me to say hi for her.

MessageHello Sensei! Thank you very much for the clinic that was held this past weekend. It was the most inspirational yet! Everyone was so enthusiastic and yet at ease. We particularily enjoyed the review of kata and the special shindo techniques, proving once again, albeit in different ways, that constant practice and a good attitude are two of the keys to success.

Thanks again.

The Borle Family.

MessageHello Sensei,

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for you taking your time to teach us in Edmonton. Your words and wisdom were moving, not only in the topics of karate but also life. Your discussion of family, and how to always be true to yourself (even when your standing alone) inspired me.

The message that I took from the clinic to keep close to my heart is that it’s not one's job, family name or number of friends that defines a person, it’s their actions. If you always do what you feel is morally right (with no wavering) at the end of the day you’re a “good” person and it’s easier to look in the mirror if that’s what you see looking back.

And for this I thank you.
I look forward to seeing you again,
Rory

MessageHello Sensei:

I want to thank you for instructing the 2008 fall clinic in Edmonton, Alberta. I also want to thank you for your enlightening speeches in the aspects of honor, respect, humility, loyalty, and humbleness. Also, with respect of unity, how we should continue to work together in friendship and growth.

For all the readers, you have to remember what Sensei Leonard sacrifices in being our Sensei. He works at night, spends time with his family during the day, and trains in karate. Not only that, he travels across Canada teaching the traditional aspects of Wado Kai Karate. Does he ever complain? No, he does not. He gives his time to show what a true traditional master does in carrying his passion. No ego just pure heart. And that is the way how we should train. Pure heart. There are things that hurt us and disppoint us but I have learned that you cannot carry that for it will become heavier and heavier.

It was an honor watching you grade your son, Joshua, Sensei, in Edmonton. From all of us here, thank you. Sensei Karen Holowaty, thank you for accompanying Sensei and his son here to Edmonton.

I will do and continue to do so. Thank you for your guidance, Sensei.
