How did you find us?Searching for information on the original books.
MessageI adored these books as a child - I still have my original complete set, though these are now getting a little frail. I wrote to Rev W whilst I was in primary school and got a lovely letter back - how I wish I had it now.....

My own children (daughter 8, son 5) adore the stories and we now have a modern reprint of the original books. Hooray for proper literature for children that doesn't feel the need to patronise the reader as a halfwit or constantly Address Social Issues. The characters, stories and exquisite illustrations are the hugely welcome antithesis to the likes of the mister men. Thank God!!

Please keep up the great work, this is a Really Useful Website.

MessageIn response to Felix Cheng's comment regarding the TV characters and as far as I'm concerned, Madge is based on a Scammel Scarab which is also known as the 'Mechanical Horse'. If you require any information on such vehicles, I would suggest visiting the following website: www.mechanical-horse-club.co.uk

MessageAs chairman (and founder) of the Asperger Rail Club, I would like to say well done for creating this website. Having a generic interest in railways, watching the old Thomas videos partly triggered the enthusiasm although now at twenty years old, I appreciate the original books as opposed to what we take for granted in this day and age. What's more, the National Autistic Society can always tell you that Thomas is indeed popular with autistic children and as you might expect, I was one of them. So, once again, well done and keep up the good work!

How did you find us?looking for info on decca & johnny morris
MessageI was given the set of four LP's on the decca label titled the Railway stories ready by johnny morris when I was a child. I have since grown up and had a child of my own who has also enjoyed the same records.
It is very rare to find any where that seems to know of these stories, it is such a shame as they are great for even todays children.

MessageHiya Martin, Great site by the way.

However, as "Thomas down the mine" was based on a true story, I was wondering if you knew the name of the driver of the train as you only have his surname (postlethwaite) as my surname suggests, it is possible I could be related to him, and it would help me locate him quickly or possibly add him to my grandma's family tree she's been making.

Thanks Andrew Postlethwaite

PS. Is it possible you could private message me, as I would forget to come back here and check!
