MessageI love your blog, I am an EMT with a small rural ambulance service south of Pittsburgh, PA. Tonight when I read "Just an Ambulance Driver" it reminded me so much of a paramedic I worked with that told us our ambulances were yellow because we are the CABulance service. Definition: CABulance, when you must go to the hospital at 3:00 am for the heartburn you have had for a month.

Good Luck and KEEP WRITING!! I live your life and I enjoy reading your tales.

MessageI really like your blog and, having just discovered it, have yet to read all of the posts. You currently have what I consider to be the greatest job on the face of the planet, that is, being a boston paramedic. I would have become an EMT-B or EMT-I by now if the minimum age was 16, but sadly I'm still waiting for the day when I can finally sign up for the boston ems EMT-B class. As of right now i'm just (and i say "just" only because I want to eventually be more than) a first responder, and red cross volunteer. That said, i've already gone through two full emt-b textbooks and have recently begun studying from the mosby EMT-P textbook. Thank you very much for doing what you do, and I hope to one day join the ranks of the true "Boston Finest." Feel free to email me if you have any advice relating to how I can best prepare for EMT-B school.
Thankful,
Ben Lewis

Messagehello ts,
to be honest, i don't remember how i came to your site. i suspect i was absent mindedly clicking through a few german paramedic/emt blogs and one of them might have linked to yours - however, i don't regret having landed here. it's immensely interesting to read the perspective of a u.s. colleague ... and somehow it's soothing to read that your people don't seem to be any less stupid than ours when it comes to calling 911 ;-)
anyways, i wish you all the best - hope you'll enjoy the job for a while to come and provide your readers with more funny and thoughtful insights on your work smilie

MessageI came across your blog while looking for a site to dispose of sharps. I have been reading for three hours now and am captivated by your material. Well written, great stories. I have always respected the EMT's and Paramedics as I know they are the first there to stabalize you if they can. I was in a serious accident in 1980 and if it weren't for the EMT's and Paramedics I would have bled to death. A month later the EMT's and Paramedics actually visited me in the hospital and brought baloons and flowers. I will never forget them. Thank you for everything you guys and gals do.

MessageI absolutely love your blog!

You write gripping stuff. The glimpse into your world is fascinating. Sometimes I feel like I went along on your calls - so exciting. You really know how to make a reader feel "as if they have been there".

Your work seems so real - you make a difference and alter the outcome sometimes. The issues you have to deal with has to be such a challenge at times.

Thanks!
