| Message | I suppose I am thankful for this mechanized digitalization of guestbook signing...so unlike the pen and paper guestbooks found only in quaint bed and breakfasts around the country now (and perhaps the occassional hotel). Here, no one will ever know my chicken-scratch handwriting, aside from its mention here, a disgrace to my use of the language no matter how much I try to beautify it...
And so here I will relate a quote by Henry James that has always been in my mind while writing... "We work in the dark--we do what we can--we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion, and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."
Let it not be said that I did not sign this guestbook. Let it be said only that I signed it with eloquent words of inspiration, and not in handwriting worthy of farm foul. |
