MessageI went to Kendal on business and unfortunetly was booked into the "Bridge Hotel", disgusting is the only word that can remotely describe this excuse for a hotel/B & B. After much panic and stress i called my wife back in Scotland and she managed to arrange a room at "The Bridge-House B&B" (the place I thought I was meant to be booked in). I called Sheila and she was magnificent, there were no rooms left so Sheila let out her daughters/grandaughters room to me which I will be eternally greatfull for, what a wonderfull lady, she made me feel so welcome, just like a long lost aunt, warm, cosy and very friendly. Please be aware that Sheila's place is not the dump that is situated at the end of the bridge. Breakfast is amazing, highly recommended, better than any major hotel chain. Thank you once again Sheila, I am forever greatfull
For your kindness and hospitality. X smilie smilie smilie

MessageSituated on the quieter side of Kendal which was much nicer. very friendly informal atmosphere, really felt 'at home.' Room was more than adequate as was breakfast. Sheila and her husband are keen travellers/walkers who were willing and able to advise us as too the local walking routes. Would definitely visit again.

MessageThis was the halfway point on our Lands End to John O'Groats cycle challenge last August. We arrived tired after 90 miles. We left re-energised and climbed Shap with a special "mountaineers" breakfast inside us and recorded our quickest leg of our trip. This place is special and the owners understand a bit about outdoor life and adventure and it shows in what they do; looking after their guests extremely well. Thanks.

MessageHi Sheila
Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful hospitality, it was a real pleasure staying in your beautiful home, the added benefits of collecting us in the pouring rain from Burnside and returning us the next day, the superb homemade bread at breakfast, the very comfortable room all made our stay a truly memorable one. Thank you so much Viv & Mick smilie
