MessageAs a member of the Corbitt family. I want to thank you for the great work you have done in keeping the memory alive of the brave men who served with distinction on the USS Marblehead.
My uncle, George Albert Corbitt was one of those men.
Having served in the military myself. I know this is a special task you have undertaken.
May GOD Bless you.
Thanks again.

MessageMy father, Jarett Amous Richardson from Mississippi, served on the Marblehead from 1938-1945. His rank was FC1c(M). He was very proud of his service and that of his ship and shipmates. His fondness for them all was always apparent when he spoke of his years in the Navy.

MessageI had one cousin on the USS Marblehead and one on the USS Houston. Dallas Egelston was injured but got back to port. He was on the USS Marblehead. My other cousin was on the USS Houston. He survived the attack, but was picked up by the Japanese and spent the rest of the war as a POW. These were brothers and were in the same battle in the Java sea.

MessageCraig, the new site, as was the other, is very nice. I am also so thankful you added Uncle George Corbitt to find a grave.

I am sorry more Corbitts have not signed the book, but will send out another "Corbitt Cuzzin" letter soon.

Thank you for caring.

MessageI am the grandson of Arthur E. Rood who served on the Marblehead during the battle.

My grandfather passed away in 1975 and so I have no information about his personal experiences on the ship. I am looking for information, stories, and photos from anyone who served with him.
