MessageDoes anyone know if a reunion is planned this year? My Father In Law, Joseph R Leinweber, would love to hear about one. I don't know if he'll be able to attend, as it would depend on the location, as he doesn't get around too much anymore, but maybe he would like to give some input or we could send a video of him if he can't makeit. We are currently living in Knoxville TN.

Please email me if there will be one, and I will let Joe Sr know.

Thank you,
Jan Leinweber

MessageDr. Wassell and his wife, Madeline, were very good friends of my family. Madeline was my Godmother. Our lives were enriched by knowing and loving them. On a whim I did a google search for Dr. Wassell and found this page. Thank you for keeping this important part of history alive. Though they are no longer with us they will remain in my heart as alive and wonderful as they always were. Patricia Walker

MessageMy dad served on the USS Marblehead RM2 Class, and was there Feb 4, 1942. I wonder if anybody knows where I can find The names of all the crewmen, the ships roster! Had it at one time on the Marby web site, but that does not seem to work anymore. My dad passed away in 1978. would appreciate any information anyone could give me, I've looked everywhere..

MessageGreat website.
Lt. James M. Drury was the Damage Control Officer on the Marblehead when she was hit. He received the Navy Cross for his role in helping save the ship and bring her home to be repaired.
By November 1944 he was Captain Drury and was given command of the USS Neshoba - APA 216 on which my Dad served.
I maintain the Neshoba website and have been in contact with over 40 of the crew. Not one has had a negative thing to say about Capt. Drury. He was respected and liked by his crew. If anyone is interested, the site is at rpadden.com and is part of a larger Amphibs website.
Thank you for your hard work on this site - it was pointed out to me by one of the Neshoba's crew.
