This is a nice website, and very informative. I found 4 family ancestors..the Giese's. Got information that I did'nt have before. I will definately send this website on to other family members. Again, great website, and a job well done. Thanks, Shirley

Your site brought back many fond memories of Dakota City. My two brothers and I had to leave there Dec 1959. Unfortunately I have never made it back but a friend made me a tape of all the changes in town. I have been busy trying to find pictures of the town and the old schools to show my grandkids where I was raised the majority of my childhood. I have some good memories of Dakota City and my grandparents who lived there.

I certainly enjoyed going down memory lane with your web site. I grew up in Dakota City from 1953 until 1966, when I joined the USAF. I have been back to Nebraska such a very few times, but have fond memories of many people in the community. Thanks for your website. Ross.

Do you have any info on a St. Christina's Church in South Sioux City? I am writing a piece on a 2-ton bell cast by Stuckstede & Bros. (St. Louis) for St. Christina's in 1904. I can't find any info on St. Christina's Church, but would be sure to include it in my piece if I had anything! I would be happy to credit the Dakota County Historical Society relative to any info on the church you can uncover for me.
The bell now sits on ASU's West campus in Phoenix and is rung on special occasions.
How many people lived in S. Sioux City in 1904?
Thanks!
