MessageThis is actually his daughter, Ashley. You can contact me through my email.

Does anyone here know my dad? He's...well if you knew him you wouldn't forget him. He's the most amazing dad ever.

His birthday is in October and I thought it would be cool to find someone that knew him and that I could give our address to or something and you could write back and forth.

I'm not sure the years he served, but I would estimate 1950s-60s. He was born in 1935 and I thought he said he went into the service when he was 18 or 19 so I'm guessing 1953 or 54-on.

Thanks and God bless you all!

Ashley Ransley

MessageMy Father Clayton (Buddy) Walter Lingelbaugh was on this ship in the 1940's and he named my brother after the ship.
He was so proud that he served on this ship with his comardes and instilled in us a great sense of pride for our military. I hope to find out information about his service due to the fact that he is passed away.
May God Bless all our soldiers in heaven and still here on earth fighting for our freedom.
Love the Military!

MessageI served aboard The Randolph from late 1961 through the summer of 1963. I replaced Dale E. Kreitner when he was discharged from active duty, as Captain's talker, a very interesting job. I was a PN3 working in I and E.. I worked for LTjg Peter Gray in I and E handling service wide exams, GED programs, college admission work etc. Very exciting times with Cuba, John Glenn, the Med cruises and the ash wednesday storm of March 1963.

MessageI served on the USS Randolph from 1959 through 1960. RD-3, OI Division. I was a reserve on active duty. We were in Gitmo during the bay of pigs invasion. We also witnesed when Gus Grissom's space capsule was lost. I was on the bridge when he was spotted coming down and relayed to the bridge his sighting from the look outs. Warmest regards to my former ship mates and those who served.
