MessageHello Charles,
smilie Very nice site. I really was impressed with the detail and overall effort that you put into building the Canadian LAV III. It actually prodded me to get out the modelling tools again and get back into the hobby after a 5 or 6 year break.

MessageThanks for the kind words Jason. I did not have any plans to work from. I wish I had but did not.

I used lots of styrene to make the conversion which was quite difficult. The Canadian LAV III is very different compare to the stryker. There are many small differences as I kept finding many one after the other. I used reference photos from Primeportal.net and photos that were sent to me from other military people who supported my build. I did not use any measurements because I could not find any. So I used my eye and deductive calculations to arrive at a fixed measurement.

I used everything from small/thick copper wires for tow cables, ties and handles to strips of paper for the many straps you covering the vehicle. I also used archer transfers for the licence plate on the back of the vehicle and the Canadian flag that is on the front. Majority of the build was heavily scratchbuilt using lots of styrene, metal washers for rim covers, bolts etc. The barrel, which is aluminum machined, comes from the 'Barrel Depot' in Canadian. Well worth the purchase. There's nothing else like it.

I do not use an Airbrush, I sprayed everything using Tamiya Nato Green spray rattle can. I know many people use an airbrush but I do not have the proper space to have a complete airbrush system. So I make do with what I have. Maybe one day I'll finally get an airbrush.

MessageThat LAV is amazing, you must have worked from blueprints.

I am waiting for Maple Leaf Models to create a Coyote conversion.
