MessageCongratulations on such a beautiful and informative web site!! I was born in Brigus and lived in the house now owned by The Keepings. My father was Patrick Shea and my mother was Gertrude O'Leary - both from Marysvale. Even though I was only 7 when we moved to Buchans I can still remember living there and have many fond memories of my Godmother - Sadie Fowler and her husband Rich who used to take me out to the Battery with them. I also remember well Maisie Shea whose store was just a stone's throw from our house. And I remember Ethel and Johnny Flynn used to come to our house to play cards with Mom and others who I don't remember now. My parents are both buried in Brigus so I visit there quite often. It is a beautiful town and my older sisters tell many stories of when they were growing up there. I'm wondering why nobody includes St. Patrick's Church in their Brigus pictures - it is a beautiful Church as well as the other 2 there.

Once again, congratulations and Thank You for your beautiful site.

MessageI was born in Brigus, Nfld. in December, 1948. My father was Thomas Bartlett and my mother was Lucille (Gushue). We moved here to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia when I was only 1 year old. I haven't been back yet for a visit but I have lots of Aunts, Uncles and cousins there so I hope to one day get back and meet some of them. Love the pictures of Brigus that are on here. Gives me a look at the place where I was born.

MessageI am very impressed with the layout of the panoramic scenic photos. they speak highly of the beauty that Brigus has to offer. You get that warm fuzzy belong there feeling. I hope some day to make it up to visit. Would you recommend that I wear a navy blue shirt during the festival so that you cannot see how sloppy I am when I eat blueberries?

MessageSite looks great. Suggest you add a sidebar with old historic photos. ie old sailing ships, turn of the 19th century photos, etc

Just a quick hello from Nino, Galina, Nicolai and myself.
We have been in Turkey for just over a year now and will be in Brigus for the Blueberry Festival this summer.
