| Message | My Grandfather, William John (Jack) Weeks, was born Feb. 12, 1880 in Brigus. He married in Montreal, where my father, Cecil John Weeks, was raised, and moved to Toronto where he died in 1939. My Great-Grandfather, William John Weeks, was born in 1846 in Bull Cove and married Maria Sparkes on Dec. 29, 1875 in Brigus. Maris was also born in Bull Cove. They both died in Montreal. I was born in Toronto, but now live in a hamlet 1 1/2 hours northeast. I hope to travel to Brigus to explore my heritage as soon as I can afford the trip. Maybe I'll even find some relatives?? | Message | Wayne, I know first-hand how quaint and picturesque the town of Brigus really is and look back upon my growing up there with fond memories. I’m proud of how the town has maintained its heritage and remained one of the province’s most beautiful communities. Your new web site, as a further extension of the community, is most assuredly worthy of compliment. There is a wealth of information available and I will use it to keep abreast of community events... Brigus has a long and illustrious past – here’s to hoping the future is as equally exciting... Kudos to everyone who contributed their time/effort in bringing such a wonderful web site to life.
