| Message | My father's family has its roots in the Ellisburg area, as well as Sandy Creek. I need to identify the road # off which is the Mellen homestead. In 2002 I followed the road until it was baricaded by wire fence. I could see the old road as it continued on towards Ellisburg. The road was called Mellen Road at one time and it still has its stone column markers. I used Google Maps to follow the road - the imprint is still viewable - how exciting was that! I want to locate the property owner, so I can travel the road and look for foundations along the way. |
