| Message | I am Code Enforcement Officer for 3 municipalites- { still after retirement of 2 municipalities in 96- from 85 on} of Jefferson & St Lawerence Counties , Also present a member of Jeff Co Planning Board , for several yrs. Abandonded Buildings , are a "night-mare" to a Code Officer, to find the ownership , especally if the taxes are unpaid to date.The "trail" goes from the last owner to village,town,county, forneither wants to take responcibily of, repairs,demolish,so therfore it falls on to the code office for "sitely" apperance to neighbor hood, & safety of intruders, until , some time to court proceedures.AND maybe to NEWS MEDA. I have many photos of such buildings, some of the ones you display & many more. Thank you for bring this "to-lite". Rod: |
