Because I'm sure if they drove cars like everyone else, they would try to fix the roads because they are shameful. Sorry ,don't mean to be hateful but COME ON!! | Message | It was great 2 view the website of Bay Roberts (home town), left in '77. Attended Coley's Point and Ascension. What prompted me to check out the websites were the breathtaking commercials of Newfoundland and Labrador on CBC. It made me very proud to be a Newfoundlander! The commericals of the rock should win an award/s for the most beautiful sites shown on the air...way to go! Checking out dates for the Blueberry Festival and Regatta Races (never attended). | Message | I have just found this website and am delighted to see some of Bay Roberts. My mother was born in Coleys Point on May 14, 1895. Her name was Sarah Winifred Bishop. Her mother's name was Elinor [or Helen or Ellen][nee]Bradbury and her father's name was either Henry or James Bishop. I believe Elinor Bradbury Bishop was buried there. Her father died in Labrador at a Dr Grenfell saw mill. Mother had sisters Tena, Elsie Mae and Lilly.I have long wanted to see Bay Roberts and Coleys Point and would love to correspond with someone from there. I live in Duxbury Massachusetts.  nancy |
