MessageThe lady that has given so much to the 240th and never asked for any thing in return, Linda (Luther) Graham, has passed away on December 30th, 2009. Linda had been fighting melanoma skin cancer for 18 months. By a chance encounter on the Internet, me searching the web one day in 1997 looking for different Vietnam Veteran websites, I viewed Linda's site and signed the guestbook. That incident led to an email from Linda thanking me for commenting on her site and the start of a 12 year friendship. Linda and I never met face-to-face but she was certainly one of my closest and dearest friends. Because of Linda the 240th has the websites LZ, Flightline and Flight Operations. If any 240th member or their family would like to send their condolences to her husband, TJ, or her sister, Eileen Breedlove, please contact me for their mailing address. I will miss you, Linda, but I will never let your memory fade nor forget what you have done for me and the 240th AHC.

MessageIt is Veterans Day 2009. I was a crew chief on slicks back in 68 and 69. I even spent a little time with the mad dogs. Does anyone remember "Doc"? He is one of the few people I remember, Him and Rodney Packwood. That was so long ago. in 69 I ytansfered to the 195th AHC please contact me as I have a number of pictures I could add to your site.

GO GREYHOUND AND LEAVE THE FLYING TO US"

MessageThe 240th will allways be in my mind and heart. I am on the other two sites also. My addition is the return to sender. Since leaving Vietnam, I had a small tour in Germany, ETS out and then in 1985, I returned to service. I felt I needed to finish what I started. I made a tour to El Salvador, Bosnia and finished up with a 18 month tour in Iraq. I retired SFC in Feb 2008, with 30yrs of total service, for God and Country. Alot of us have passed and some are still with us. God bless each and everyone of us for serving, hope you are adjusted to your lives. Farewell my brothers. Please feel free to contact me. I live in small town Alvin tx.

MessageI flew CH-47C in Cambodia NW of Tay Ninh supporting ARVN Tank BN. Dec 10, 71, they were cut off & surrounded. I was slinging them 14,000 lbs of diesel. Mad Dogs supported me but was not able to prevent shootdown of BC 31. They did tell me later that "they got him". CW2 Don Malloy was a Mad Dog at that time and part of fire team. Mad Dogs stood down shortly after and Malloy was sent to the 213th BlackCats, Phu Loi, as he was Ch-47 trained. Malloy is an EMS pilot as am I. He works and lives in the Birmingham, Al area.
