MessageThe bottom line is that Thurmon was a better ballplayer than Carlton Fisk. If Fisk is in the Hall, then Munson should be there too!

MessageI was 10 years old growing up in Lafayette, LA, (the hometown of Ron Guidry), so of course, every 10-year-old kid I knew idolized Ron Guidry. Ron was certainly a great one and always a class act, but for me, as both a 10 year old little league catcher, (and a summer-long player in the neighborhood's daily dawn-to-dusk pick-up games), Thurman Munson was my guy - the ONLY baseball player that I have EVER idolized.

I cried like a baby when Thurman died and to this day, to me, his is a name that represents all that was good about baseball and that Yankee dynasty. God Bless Thurman Munson & VOTE 'M IN!

MessageI graduated high school in 1977. I was a good glove no hit catcher in high school. My heros were Bench, Fisk and Munson. All great catchers, but the difference being, Munson was a great leader
Truly the glue that held a very contentious Yankee team together. When I think of Thurman, I think "what if". We'll never know. All we have left are the memories of as tough a player as ever played the game. That he wasn't inducted shortly after his death was a terrible injustice.
Gerhig was Clemente was, why not Munson!!!!!!
