MessageThurman was a well respected and leader.
It was great to watch him play and make those impressive catches and hits.
A life cut too short and I hope and pray he get's the final honor to be inducted into the HOF!

MessageThe case for Munson is too strong. With the guys going in now such as Goose and guys that are already in that played with/against Thurm I feel that he will be in one day - maybe less than ten years.

MessageThurman Munson was exactly what baseball is all about. Nobody played it tougher and what a sweet stroke! You were so much FUN to watch and I hope I am there when you finally get your just reward and get enshrined in the HALL. We will be there in full force for you old pal. GOD BLESS.

MessageOne of the best stories I ever heard was how Thurman used to complain how out of shape he was and needed to do something about it, all while sitting in the sauna with a six pack. Great story thanks Brian for sharing...
Let's do the right thing and get him in the hall!

MessageThank you for making the push to let people know about the "Captain" and try to help the public aware of the facts with Thurmans career and the fact that he belongs in the sacred Hall. # 15 will always be part of the Tradition known as Yankee Baseball even if they disrespect him by not allowing him in the Hall

MessageMunson is not in HOF cause no one but Munson family can make any money on this. Not MLB, Not NYY. Thurm left virtually no memorabilia legacy that can be found on open mkt--even in NYC--most of his stuff is w friends and family, former Yankees as gifts from his wife & family. Unless fan pressure builds justice for The Captain will not be served.

Steinbrenner's legacy is gonna be: a Hard Rock Cafe' in the Bronx !
A few more finishes in 4th plc and maybe the empty seats will make the Steinbrenner 'uuber kind' bring in a famous singer for StarSpangledBannr or GodBlessAmer. Bring back players with skill and guts, like Munson and Mattingly and Jeter, Tino-O'Neill-Boggs-Broscius, or Chambliss-Lyle-Nettles-RWhite-Sweet Lou. Like BMurcer. Instead of Martini Bars for the Bleacher Creatures, Hal & Hank should prop up Daddy and have him send a request to all HOF Vet Comm voters to VOTE THURMAN IN!!! Like that-- in Big Bold letters with a spreadsheet comparing his personal stats and Team success' vs Fisk (no rings, fewest 1st place finishes of any other 25+ season HOFer), Bench (2 rings, but always compared to Yogi w 10 rings???), Puckett (10yrs, 2 rings). Munson: R.O.Yr '70. , MVP, Many AllStar gmes, Captain and a Catcher--most important EVERYDAY job on the field. Righty hit 3rd w Left Center Field at 435 ft--watch that shot vs KC in 78 ALCS that cleared visting teams bullpen--Yanks come from behind--do or die(-like-AROD).

So vote thurman in & send to all baseball fns u know!
