| Message | You have a great website. I'm a Shows descendant and have been doing extensive research. I have to point out that the will of Conrad Show your friend found is not proof whatsoever that it's the same as Conrad Schauss who is my direct descendant. Our family researchers haven't even been able to prove with a shadow of a doubt that Conrad was even married. A baptismal record for Johann Adam Schaus was found with parents listed as Conrad and Johanna but it still doesn't prove that's the right connection. I've been constructing the family of Conrad Show whose Will was found. On the Census record of one of his grandsons it reads that his grandfather was born in Virginia. His children's records list their last name as "Schau." So in this particular family their last name never had an "s" at the end of it. I'm building the line on Ancestry so perhaps you would be interested in following it? This family mentioned in the Will has strong ties and connections in the state of Virginia. Thank you. | Message | I descend through Johann Adam Schauss who immigrated to the Americas in 1736 from Albisheim, Germany. I too would like to connect with individuals researching the various lines of he family. Even though there are various spellings of the name, it appears we all descend through Johann Adam Schauss. I have a copy of "Show Chronicles The Descendants of Johannes Schauss" by Greg Williams and have ongoing communication with Nelson Weller, Ron Shows and others researching the family lines. FYI, John Albert Show Sr is my Great Grandfather, Stephen Conrad Show is my Grandfather and Ralph Wilson Show is my father. |
