Which tour/walk did you do?Classic Mallorcan trek in Nov. 2011
Did you enjoy it? Please commentyes, a lot
MessageIt was the most memorable holiday I have had after a car accident 10 years ago. I had avoided any physically challenging holidays and were unsure whether I could manage more than the first day. However, even though I was very tired every evening, I found hiking enjoyable - like walking meditation where one's mind gets empty. The scenery was worth all the effort and occasional rain.
The company was absolutely hilarious. From before I only knew my schoolmate almost 40 years back in life, but the rest of the eight could all give me some new perspective on life.

Rich guided and took good care of us all the way and made me feel safe. We got good food whereever we came and I slept like a baby. What more can one expect from a good holiday? And yes, I felt a lot more fit and full or energy afterwards. And now I am planning my next hiking holiday. smilie

Which tour/walk did you do?Majorcan Classic Trek Adirondak Mountain Club Hike
Did you enjoy it? Please commentAbsolutely
MessageRichard Strutt is a wealth of knowledge. As someone who did not grow up in Majorca, Richard has perhaps a better appreciation for the island than someone native to it. He is funny, careful for his guests, experienced in gauging what suits the group. He has a passion for this place which rubs off on his guests.

MessageRich Strutt has boundless enthusiasm for people, for hiking, for the gorgeous scenery and history of Mallorca.

He designed suitable hikes and outings based on his extensive local knowledge - and, as a professional, made it all seem nearly effortless.

He was a fun, generous, and interesting companion for our adventure.

Which tour/walk did you do?ADK Hike with Richard
Did you enjoy it? Please commentFantastic. Beyond Expectations.
MessageRichard obviously loves Mallorca and it extended into his familiarity with the island, its trails and its people. He was flexible in responding to the group's interests and needs and always had an idea no matter what the weather. Accommodations were varied and always excellent and he went out of his way to get us good value.
I'd go on any trip he led!

Which tour/walk did you do?Mallorcan Hiking Tour with ADK 11/21-29/2011
Did you enjoy it? Please commentIt was awesome!!
MessageBecause of Rich's planning, contacts and knowledge, we not only hiked in Mallora with its astounding views of mountains, villages and the Mediterranian, but we lodged in a variety of unique venues, sampled an array of new foods indigenous to the area, and learned about the history, plants and animals of the area through which we hiked. Richard's sense of humor and attention to individuals' needs made tired feet seem like a treat. We could not have had a better guide!

MessageI was one of 16 Adirondack Mountain Club hikers who hiked with Richard Strutt in the Tramuntana Range and along the coast of Mallorca. Richard did a wonderful job of managing all the logistics of food, lodging, and transportation as well as hiking with us three days. His deep knowledge of Mallorca, his obvious love of hiking, and his outgoing personality added immeasurably to my enjoyment. Richard was always ready with interesting details or a funny quip, and he even rescued our group, providing transportation to Port Soller, when we made a wrong turn on our hike from Tossals Verd.
The hike from Deia to Valdemossa, led by Richard, was the highlight for me.
You couldn't have a better guide than Richard Strutt!

Message16 of us from the Adirondack Mountain Club based in Lake George New York, USA, hiked for seven days from Pollenca to Lluc Monastery to Tossals Refuge to Soller (two nights here) to Deia to Valldemossa. It was an incredible experience over excellent trails with some of the most spectacular panoramas in the world. The weather was perfect. The meals and lodging were all different, unique and wonderful. We also had a superb group of strong hikers who enjoyed each others fellowship.
This was all made possible by Rich's complete and dedicated devotion to our every need. Our Club will repeat this trip in 2012 and no doubt again in 2013. I am sure this will now become an annual Adirondack Mountain Club Adventuire Travel Trip.
