| Message | Your opening paragraph on the home page is almost as if I had written it myself (except that I was only about 4 miles from Comiskey), right down to the part apart being a Phillies Phan; and what a terrific postseason this was! My father, oldest brother and I were all huge fans of Allen's and to this day agree with you that he belongs in the Hall. It would be a shame if Ron Santo cries his way in with the next veteran's balloting and Allen is once again left "outside looking in." I read his book, "Crash," several years ago and met him at a memorabilia show in '02, and I believe that, just as cool in his playing days as he was, he is cool with the way those who know true greatness remember him. |

| Message | My favorite Dick Allen season was 1970, his only year with the Cardinals. That year I sat in the bleachers at the Astrodome to see an Astros-Cards game. With Allen at bat I looked down at my scorecard, heard a loud crack, looked up, and saw people scrambling for the ball in the center field seats. Must have been a rocket shot and I missed seeing it, but certainly heard it! |

| Message | Dick Allen was and still is my favorite player of all time. Living in Chicago all I hear is how Ron Santo should be in the Hall. Nothing against Ron, but Dick deserves it more! |
