MessageI have said it once and I will say it again. The Most Deserving Player, Not in the Hall of Fame. Those who vote, should be ashamed of themselves. His numbers speak for themselves. If a pitcher throws 100mph with a so-so overall Won Lost record is enshrined. Why can't a player who
has hit some of the LONGEST HOME RUNS in BASEBALL HISTORY and also has the numbers to go along with it be rewarded with a place in COOPERSTOWN !!

MessageDick (Richie) Allen was my favorite player growing up as a kid in the 60's. I never understood the press and the many fans that often turned on him. I guess being black, not afraid to speak your mind hurt him. What a shame. I love Philadelphia but after Wilt, Charles Barkley and so many other black athletes have had problems here, I believe it is our fault. I hope we don't run Ryan Howard out of town. Thanks Mr. Allen for the great memories and you belong in the hall!

MessageMy favorite athlete of all time. My others include Billy Cunningham, Andrew Toney, Steve Carlton and Jim Brown (not so much as a person, although very interesting).

Personally I saw Dick hit quite a few home runs over the roof in Connie Mack. Being from Philadelphia and see Ryan Howard now, I sort of see similarities in talent, but Howard does not have to go through what Dick did. Obviously Allen was a greater athlete than Howard. He was and all state basketball player also

MessageWas looking at your baseball card page. You may already know this but there is one missing - 1967 year showing the 1966 RBI Leaders - he was number 3 that year. Along with the HR leader card from that year a very impressive group he is with!
