| Message | Dear Friends,
I recently received my album (DVD) from Ireland, complete with a handwritten note, "We hope you enjoy the Music". What a wonderful thing!
This is probably the most finely crafted album of Irish traditional music I have ever encountered. It is lovely in voice (I especially appreciate the harmonies, beautiful - what an achievement!) and instrument, not to mention a fine bit of technical recording. The choice of songs is also unique; things I've never heard, nor would have been likely to find on my own, pleasant to hear, with a full range of expressions: joyful, longing, mournful. This album is also, at least to me, a genuine lesson, a real education, in what traditional Irish music is. I appreciate it, indeed.
(Probably I would need to learn Irish Gaelic to give it proper respect - my loss at the moment.)
I am gratful to have become aquainted with Liadan (Saw you in State College Pennsylvania, USA) and hope your visit was rewarding. It certainly was for me.
Many happy returns, and many thanks!
Sincerely,
Ken Espenschied |
