| Message | I recently discovered this story and can't put it down! I find myself re-reading various parts to see if I've missed anything. I am very anxious to see how it's going with Legolas and hope there will be more soon. |

| Message | Thank you Rayna! working on the next chapter now and how erestor and glorfindel take the news, but of course the big thing is elrond and thranduil's confrontation. not giving any hints on that, hoping to have it done soon, not sure how much i can cram into the next chapter. so glad you liked little legolas, too! he is such a good hearted little elfling and if he knew what the ravens and butterflies want him to do, he would be all for it, as we shall see. the hawks and the dragons will not prevail, the balrog adventure must of course take place. thanks again! |

| Message | ah stef, you are on track indeed. fennas gave away a lot of hints and i'm happy to see you found them intriguing. oh yes, the family had big plans for legolas and they did not include marriage to anyone from Imladris you can be sure! the trip to the havens was meant to re-establish ties there, for there must, i think, be some Sindarin families there who once lived in Doriath and would have known Thranduil's people. Thranduil had already made overtures to one or two of these noble Sindarin families, suggesting Legolas as a possibility for just such a political union you have mentioned! as we will see, that marriage would have secured an influx of needed resources to the Woodland Realm, hard hit by predation from Orcs and Wraiths. Legolas has given several hints of his own that he might not have been so pleased to be traded off in such a manner, hence his intense interest in being the best with the bow Greenwood has, making himself indispensable. What he failed to consider was that his mate might have moved to Greenwood instead of Legolas moving away. He's young and we are going to see further evidence of his lack of thinking things through thoroughly before acting. i considered having legolas know of the ulterior motive behind his inclusion on the trip, using that as his reason for diverting to Imladris in order to delay the inevitable. i rejected that, obviously. i've decided he understands he would have eventually had to marry for politics, but nothing more. |

| Message | you guys are the very best!more thanks are in order: Vickie, so pleased you felt the scene in the courtyard 'came to life'. it was different to do it this way, shifting from one point of view to another so we watched and shared the thoughts of our four principal Imladrian nobles (i'm including Lindir). poor Erestor must really be sweating now! he is in for aurprise, though, that will cement his loyalty to Legolas forever more. you are so right about Legolas' transformation. some very important things did happen and i will make sure to bring that out in full. the twins may have been all about driving him away before, but now that they are his mates, they have another perspective. just as lindir helps Elrond understand sylvan ways, the twins can help Legolas understand their father better. thank you for your kind praises, means the world to me! stef: ah, i am SO pleased you picked up on that little description of Rhun'waew! yes, i have many things to reveal about her and i can see you are hot on the scent already. since we don't really know anything at all from tolkien about Legolas' mother, i have a free hand. i hope i can do her justice. thanks again for the kind words! |
