MessageFor those planning to attend Xanadu on Broadway, some info you might find useful. There are seats available on stage. I think you have to call and request to be seated on stage. If I go again, I will request these special seats. You are right in the middle of all the action. It looks like fun. Also, there is no intermission, so go to the bathroom before you are seated. smilie

MessageI was a HUGE ONJ fan as a youngster, and saw Xanadu in the theater when it opened wayyyy back when I was a itty bitty 9 years old...I became a HUGE greek mythology fan because of it, trying to find out what a Muse was!!!! I have a 9 pointed Star of the Muses wood carving and a large painting of the Muses with Apollo on my wall at home - oddly enough, this movie probably changed my life!! Great site, thanks!

MessageMy heart skipped a beat when I found Xanadu on DVD years ago! It was even widescreen! Now I read on this web page that a new version with soundtrack DVD will be released in June! I remember how sad I was last time I went to NYC Times Square and found that my fav souvenir shop named Xanadu had closed down, Now it's a broadway play, gotta go back to NYC!

MessageTo Rick from the U.S. The song that follows Xanadu in the film is Fool Country. It's available on the Olivia Newton-John Gold double CD from Canada. It does'nt include the tap dancing bit but it does have the 'Rock Chick / Country' segment. Hope this helps.

MessageDoes anyone here know the name of the song right after Oliva sings Xanadu the first time?

Olivia and the sisters do a little tap dance number to it and the dance floor has a light show going on while they dance.

I'd love to know if there's a full version of it somewhere and if it's available.

MessageI love Xanadu and ONJ. I have been obsessed with her and the movie since it came out (actually I have loved ONJ since way before the movie). I was very excited to learn about the Broadway production. I went to see the show in NYC in October 2007. It was a GREAT show. I was a little worried about it being a spoof, but it was tastefully done. After the show, they were having a benefit where they sold Xanadu on Broadway posters signed by the cast. You could also take a picture with one of the cast, Cheyenne on the night I was there (god he is hot and even hotter in person). While standing in line for the pic, we spotted someone we recognized. Her name is Annie Golden and she is the understudy for Mary Testa I believe. Annie was the pregnant girl in the movie Hair and was Cliff's girlfriend on Cheers (among many other items on her resume). We asked and she agreed to be in the pic with us and Cheyenne. After the show, we went to Sardi's next door and later, Annie showed up and came over to have a drink with us. She is fabulous.
By the way, if you are in NYC for Xanadu, I HIGHLY recommend seeing Spamalot. It is way too funny and right across the street from Xanadu.
