MessageHi, Laura! I read and enjoy your frugal living posts on the SLN boards. Just wanted you to know that I hope to meet you in person sometime: I too split my time between Northern Virginia and "the Valley."

MessageHi Sasha!
I bet you were wondering who that fool waving in the Cat service truck on Rte. 7 (near the Shenandoah River), was today, (Friday, 5-30-08)!

You had your Yamaha Dirt Bike in the back of your truck.

I had just checked your website last night for updates & couldn't believe it today when you passed me! I had to wave, even though I know you didn't know who I was...

Anyway, it made my day seeing you & your truck - I'll spend the rest of the day thinking about going full-time again!

Powell Camann

Hey! If you want to go riding sometime (I also have a Vstrom), give me a shout!

MessageHi! I'm thinking about doing what you're doing - I work for a staffing agency, and move every 3 to 6 months, and I'm tired of packing and being put up in hotels and apartments and trying to find places to stay in between (I took my first step towards this last year by putting everything in storage, and now I'm slowly getting rid of the stuff in storage - obviously I don't need most of it). I want an RV but can't figure out what kind. Not a big one. The Earthroamer would be amazing, but WOW the cost, and if half the stuff is powered by diesel, that would be expensive, too... I'm looking at Class Bs and truck campers, but I have a parrot and just can't figure out where to put his cage! I'm thinking I may have to plan my own conversion. Love your site!! I want to get to the point where I can take long breaks in between my work assignments. I can take 3 months of COBRA to cover insurance, I just have to make sure I save enough money to cover it and my expenses, and campground fees. smilie My family thinks I'm crazy. But my parents are letting me borrow a 25' camper this summer to "see if I can handle it." LOL! I've been dreaming of this since 2nd grade, only then I wanted to convert a double decker bus and be an author and travel the country. smilie
Anyway, your site is very inspiring!!!

MessageEnjoying ur blog/web site, thought I would drop u a line to show u another truck camper guy that really enjoys ur site. I built my own camper last year, Google, Home built truck campers and u will see my blog site and photos. I am taking my camper out for the 3rd time next week, 3 day salt water fishing trip, towing my 16' Boston Whaler. Like u i gave up the rat race 4 yrs ago and retired at age 49 1/2. When is enough money enough money. I am set for life if i live a simple life and can live off my city of houston pension of $2,700 a month. Well keep ur blog going and keep those fantastic photos coming. I want so bad to go up north but wife is still working until November. Take care, Dan
