MessageGood evening, I just read the article in Truck Camper Magazine. You are gutsy people. I admire your convictions. We are a bit older, in our 70s and retired. I have many tons of stuff and have been thinking of dumping it all, selling out, and doing the full time bit. The price of gas scares the hell out of me. I wonder how many miles per year a full timer uses up fallowing the sun??? We have a motor home and a camper. The motor home is great on space but one does not have a car when parked. The camper is great to get into the wilderness but not very roomy. I have had a fifth wheel that had lots of room and a "toy hauler" space, but was hell to back and did not park well in the restaurants on the road. In your article you mentioned, "getting a bigger rig." What kind of bigger rig did you have in mind and what are some of the advantages and trade offs that you have considered? Oh, I would like to say that money is no object, but, that would be a huge exageration, but, I can say that I have a annuity and we do not need to save for anything anymore not have we had to save for "things" for twenty years [good feeling]. Our biggest expense is health/car/house insurance and prescription drugs. OK, back to question, what do you plan to have for full time sun chasing?....carl

MessageGood luck with your full timing. You would like Big Pine Fishing Lodge in the keys. Check it out. We have the same truck so it makes me smile when I see your fine rig.

MessageLaura,Sasha,
Great to meet and talk to you folks at the TC rally in Va. You've led and continue to lead very interesting lives. I would also vote you the most friendly, yet most unpretentious, couple at the rally. I wish you all the best in your fulltiming ventures and hope we meet again sometime. You really should try to get to the Florida keys and try the snorkeling and the fishing.

MessageHi! I found your posts on RV.net (1freebird). I lived in Candy Hill for a little over 2 years (2003-2005)on site V11... I also drive to Sterling every day, sometimes on my '03 DL1000, or my recently aquired '87 Cavalcade LXE.
Karl & Selena are the best! I'd love to move back in. I met my wife while at Candy Hill, & we lived there for awhile after we first married. We're living in a mobile home park (Regency Lakes), but I'd prefer to go back to Candy Hill! Reading of your experiences just adds fuel to my fire to go back to fulltiming! You guys are living my dream! I'd love to have you over sometime (We're behind the Sheetz on Rte 7 at 81). We met the nicest people at Candy Hill! Anyway, after reading your webpage I just had to say "Hi"! Tell Karl & Selena (and Art & Wendy- when they arrive for the season)that we miss them & think of them often!

MessageFound your site a couple of weeks ago. We too are full-time RVers. Although atm I have full-time job in PA, we hope to get on the road again in another year or two. Daisy is in follow-up treatments for Breast Cancer.

I run several web based businesses and wouldn't mind helping you reduce your hosting expenses if you are interested. Check out rd-webhosting.com. Since you like your slow cooker, theweekendchef.com has a lot of recipes and pdf cookbooks available. Those are all free.

I look forward to hearing more about your new job. Thanks for sharing,

Ray
