MessageContinued from previous message............

First workshop, 10th September. If you should discover some like-minded people who you feel would be interested in what we're doing, bring them along on the day or get them to contact the theatre for more information. If they do not want to pay £50.00 before, they can join in the workshop for a fee of £5 payable on the day.

Remember communication is everything, let us know if you won't be there or if you are bringing someone else with you, so that we can arrange the workshops accordingly. Use the Market Theatre NOTICEBOARD as a means of sending messages or keeping up to date with information.

You will tell us each time whether you wish to be involved in the show or not, and we will find a play that will cater for the numbers interested. All those that wish to be involved will be involved, in some capacity or another. During rehearsal you will be encouraged to come in and watch the session even if you only get on the stage for a few moments. You often learn more from watching the direction, than you do being directed!

Once again, a big welcome to all those who have shown interest and those that are planning on joining. This is a very exciting time for the Market Theatre as it continues to develop into a community theatre in the true sense. We will be successful and we will go from strength to strength.

The Noticeboard is checked everyday, so use it to communicate! www.markettheatre.co.uk

Regards Kirk.

MessageAMATEUR GROUP

Following the very successful meeting on Sunday morning the 28th May, the Market Theatre proposed Amateur Group is definitely going ahead. The plan for the first year is 2/3 weeks of workshops followed by rehearsals for a play which will culminate in public showing. This scenario will happen three times during the first year, but the number of shows may increase as demand requires.

Season Commences; Sunday 10th Setember 10.30
Subscriptions; £50 per annum.
Meeting; Wednesday evenings 7.30 to 9.30
Sunday Mornings 10.30 to 12.30
(The Long Bar will be open after both sessions)

Show Weeks 1. Sunday 19th to Saturday 25th November
2. Sunday 4th to Saturday 10th March
3. Sunday 3rd to Saturday 9th June

A company of amateurs led by professional directors and teachers. We feel it is possible to bridge the gap between amateur and profesional by organising and running a group in this way. Lifring the acting knowledge and performance standards of amateur players by approaching production in a professional way. Although, we are aware that members will have other commitments by definition, we will still expect enthusiasm, open mindedness, attendance on a regular basis and a willingness to listen and learn. It will be hard work, but your reward will be the acheivement of a very high standard of performance.
