Though it was really only a few blocks we spent what seemed like endless hours walking and talking as two kids on their way home. I would talk to Robin and she would tell Ebbie what I said because I was too much of a kid to actually talk to her directly.

I have my own 3 kids now and some things never change. The girls are always smarter than the boys in this regard and such was the case with me. Very funny to remember. Then I saw the picture of Cathy Akin, Ebbie and Robyn on Robyn’s high school page and that ruined me; it hit me hard that Robyn was gone.

I moved away in 9th grade and lost touch with all of my childhood friends. I am now recovering from my cancer wherein I was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2006 and am now cancer free. Since then I have been reaching out to find many of my childhood friends and began to look for Robyn and Ebbie; that is how I eventually found the site.

All that to say I have only now learned of her death and to say the least it makes me very sad. I knew her as a 12 to 15 year old girl who had her life ahead of her.

She was a great childhood friend and a great person surrounded by loving friends and family. I know that she lived a life filled with love and that is all any of us can ask. God bless Robyn

I was online, came across the Covina H.S. memorial page, & found 2 childhood friends my age who have died, Steve Petrovich and Larry Barton DeCamp. I've sent an email to Covina HS if they can tell me circumstances of their passing. There was a David Petrovich who died also, class of 1972. I believe he may have been Steve's brother. It's been so many years now, have no way of finding their families.

Anyway, there's a few similarities here, my name is Robin Lynn (Barr), and my family and friends called me Rob and Robby also. My brother Steve passed away in 2005 from lymphoma and I took care of him. So, I know, I know.

Read your entire site, what a wonderful thing you've created here, I feel I know Robyn just a little, and my heart cries what she went thru and leaving 2 daughters. Besides my brother, I've had a lot of other losses as well, and my mom died 3 months after my brother.

What helped me get thru it was a reading I had with a fabulous, warm, wonderful man named Tim Braun, a medium. He had nothing but details, from my mother and brother so there was no question it was all real. And there was even some laughter. Don't know your religious beliefs, don't want to offend, but if you're open to it, do it. You won't regret it, I promise you.
