| Message | Hi All,
I have never seen so many Hemeon's in one place. I have only met two others in my lifetime that I wasn't directly related too.
My grandfather, Fred Hemeon, was from Shelburne, NS. On January 30, 1906 he and another fisherman named Charles Matheson were fishing from a schooner named the "Quonnapowitt".
A heavy fog set in and all of the dory's were lost but 16 of the 18 were recovered the next day except my Grandfather and Matheson's dory.
They were at sea for four days before being rescued by another fishing vessel named the "Flora Nickerson".
The ship headed towards Boston, my grandfather was put in a hospital in Chelsea, MA. When he was released he remained and started a family.
So here I am.
