| Message | Great job Samyukta . Genetic testing certainly seems to be the way to go. Samyuktha, you may also want to try to collect incidence of disease prevalance amongst the people there (plus note their dietary pratices, etc). For ex: Ulcerative colitis is common among Ashkenazi Jews coz its linked to the HLA-B gene. Quite a few Balija Naidu people I know have some form of it (want to know if it is associated with the balija lot or the nayaka lot - or both (both same)?). Also can you find anything linked with the words: Yavana, Bahlika, Khamboja, Kalinga and Dravida there? Apparently they were 'non-vedic' people who were integrated into the vedic fold during the Mahabharata times. Were they Jewish? Balija - born from fire, associated with Vashista, etc myths - explains the adherence of Balijas to Rama / Vaishnavism (ancient (V)ENKI-ism?) apart from Krishnadeva Raya adopting it. The lot that was Yavanas (or integrated as Yavana) were probably ancient bactrian greeks (of jewish descent?) (not to be confused with how present day greeks are like.). This author however (aided by David Frawley) believes Yavanas were not greeks (contrary to popular belief)(so were they jews?): geocities(dot)com/rigvedsamhita/yavanas(dot)htm Also any links to the words sangama / salwa / saluva? Finally, are there people of Kapu caste in this village? (Balijas in Tamil Nadu are firm that they are not associated with Kapus and the integration in Andhra might have come in later times. |
