| Message | My ancestors were born in Carbonear in the early 1800's. They emigrated to the U.S. in 1873. Why they would like to leave such a beautiful place is beyond me. |

| Message | My grandfather was from your town, his name was Aubrey Osmond, he came to Springhill N.S.in the forties and worked in the coal mines. Would love to hear from any distant relatives from Carbonear. He married Beatrice Hopkins of Springhill and they had a family of 3 girls and 6 boys . The only one living now is my uncle Donald who lives in Amherst N.S. |
