MessageMust admit that I found my time (1958 to 1963) very good educationally but the school itself was full of snobbery. My parents were extremely poor and struggled to keep me in a decent uniform but I was still laughed at for not having a good quality one. I achieved 7 “O” levels but was never asked if I wanted to go on for “A” levels. I never knew about all the school trips that took place until I saw them on this site. Also my father died the day before I took my woodwork “O” level and the other candidates teased me, calling me an orphan amongst other things. By the way it is my “O” level certificate with the bar through the name. Now retired in Brittany with my wife of 37 years. rayiswild@gmail.com

MessageJust retired from a job that has taken me all over the world and afforded me no time for the simple pleasures in life such as maintaining contact withn long - lost friends from CGS. Have recently browsed the website and have uncovered many photographs and names that have brought back countless happy memories of times long ago. Would be nice to hear from anyone who remembers me as I do them - Shirley Betts, Ian Corbridge, Jean Douthwaite, John Jenkins, Kev Nield, Derryn Osbor ne, Steve Rhodes, Laura Rose, Brian Surr, Moira Sykes and Susan Wright to name but a few

MessageCGS 1958 - 63

Hello to anyone from my years at CGS who may remember me. I was just Googling and thought I would pop into the site, which has changed a lot since my last visit (years ago). Thanks for all the hard work on the site. I am still living in Peterborough, and enjoying semi retirement and our grandchildren. jean@wild4life.co.uk

MessageHi all
Just thought I'd update the email address.
Mr Sanderson was good to me, he taught me to play and enjoy rugby, though my wife of 38 years still can't understand the rules.
Great site, thanks to Alan.

MessageHi to all who may remember me. Life spent in teaching, mainly pupils with visual and/or hearing difficulties. Since retirement carried on with a charity (friendsofgovi.org.uk) working in the Gambia.

I do remember CGS fondly and although it was not all fun much was good.

MessageI have perused your pages with great interest and have found them fascinating.
I've recognised some faces from my schooldays which you haven't got listed, but over the years I have lost touch with all the old friends unfortunately.
