MessageSIX years?? WOW! I haven't been back since the hurricane. This day six years ago, I guess we were still trying to get out and back home again. I have to look at the journal to be sure.
Anyway....happy "Anniversary" to all my "Wilma's Last Resort" family!

MessageHi all;
Well, the latest news from this website's owner and author, is....I'm getting married! No....no honeymoon in Cancun. My husband to be, Doug Hill and I will be honeymooning in Norway at a hotel made of ice and snow. I hear they don't get too many hurricanes there in January, so no worries about being stranded in a foreign country with no way home again!
Not sure how much longer I'll keep this site up, since posts on this guest book are slowing way down... but, as long as the hits continue, I'll pay the fees and keep 'her up!
Please continue to post up your experiences and thoughts.

MessageWell,
fellow Wilma survivors...it's been a year since my last post. Much has happened. Damon, who created this website for me is gone... Let's hope the site stays up and running without issues. Otherwise we may loose our photos, posts and contact with each other...as Damon and I have.
I have not been back to Cancun since the hurricane, but am planning a cruise to Cozumel in November. I'm hoping for a less stressful trip to Mexico this time!
Keep in touch and drop me a line any time. It's always good to hear from my "hurricane buddies" from time to time!!

MessageMy husband and I are "Wilma Survivors" too. We were at The Ambiance. Our "shelter" only had about 100 people in it. I think we had it good compared to you. What a week that was! We were there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, which we will certainly never forget.

MessageHello to everyone! Every so often I look at this guest book to see who has posted up and how many people have visited my site. I'm proud to see that so many are still reading the stories and telling about their experiences in Cancun during Wilma. I suppose we'll all hold an unspoken bond with each other for the rest of our lives. I'm glad to "know" you all and hope you'll continue to tell your stories. Please feel free to contact me any time. I can be reached at [email protected]. This is my site, and I hope you continue to enjoy it.
thanks,
Kim

MessageHello. Thank you for posting this site. My friend Suzanne sent me the link as we were one of the couples stranded at this resort during the hurricane. I really like the way you put the site together with the photos.

MessageIt was a very different few days during the hurricane. But even listening to that wind for several days, it was quite the adventure!! I do have some fond memories.

MessageWe were staying at the Aventura Spa Palace, when the hurricane hit we had been moved into the Conference Centre which was the hurricane shelter. We made wonderful friends, John and Gloria, Tom and Carolyn, Pat and Roger and Deanne and Chris. We laughed and cried together and both my husband and I think it was the most amazing experience of our lives. We saw the very best of human nature (people sharing the last of the heart medications) and the funniest (one lady complained because she hadn't been given a change of sheets for her sunbed and she was serious!!). The wonderful maids still found petals to sprinkle around the basins in the ladies' toilets. The staff were given a standing ovation when they went off duty in line as always throughout the storm. Our thanks to all the staff in particular to Alexander, from the Entertainment team, who was truly fabulous to us. I'll never forget the time we had in Mexico and will go back as it truly has a special place in my heart.
