| Message | Nice site!
I am a Roman Catholic dad of 3 children. My wife and I home educate our children (2 girls and a boy) and they are all interested in Theology and especially the Holy Religion of Judaism. There are many such Catholic Home Schooling families on Long Island who realize their "connectedness" with the Jewish believer as we do.
Your site explains the Jewish faith well and it is a delight to see people who love the Almighty as we do.
I am blessed to work for an orthodox Jewish woman and to have many Jewish friends who share a deep love for God with us.
Though we may have our theological differences which ought not to be overlooked, I notice that most of our moral precepts are nearly identical.
Your assesment regarding the Christian misconception about the Jewish understanding of God's Mercy is not a universal misconception among we Christians. It is really an error of "fundamentalism" which the Church rejects. I have always been taught as a Catholic that Our Father Abraham was one of many examples of the Jewish understanding that our Father is both Merciful and Just. Much of what the traditional (read "conservative" if you will) Catholic hears every Sunday at Mass is attributed to the truth and beauty of the Jewish people and God's revelation to them.
Thank you for a job well done.
