The mukluks crunching on the snow. Never had an assignment better then that one. Coli yes I remember Sgt Audtry Boyett.. I mean Francis Hobbs. We put Sgt on at in the shop. Do you remember Jon Tomasheiviz lol? I always loved going up to the alert pads for BPO'S and having Steak and eggs at thier chow hall. MessageI was stationed at K.I. Sawyer from 1970-1972.
I worked as a Doppler navigation systems repairman on B-52H and KC-135s. I made lots of great friends during my time at the base. I lived in dorms in "the hole" except for a brief period in the CE dorm.

MessageI was born at KI in Jan 1974 and still live in the UP. I am looking for anyone that knew my Father who was an aircraft mechanic and was 21 in 1974, his last name was Leverett. He was to be deployed some where possibly after my birth. I would like to hear from any one with any information at all. Thanks

Great site and work, I used to attend the open houses and still visit the area. What a piece of history. Keep up the good work.

MessageI was stationed at KI from 1978-81 and worked at the 410 supply Sq., I was also honored to live in the only pink barracks on-base. I truly made some of the best friendships I have ever had. Still caoont forget the fun of jumping out of the barracks windows on matresses into the huge snow banks during the winters and driving backwards for 25 miles and thru the front gate in my vega, when my clutch went out at Laughing White Fish Falls, ah, what memories!! LOL
