MessageFirst time at a Folk Festival and had a great time.

Particularly on Friday where Roy Bailey and friends entertained us all Evening.

Set in beautiful surroundings, campsite was excellent and all the people very friendly.

Can't wait until we go again.

Messagesmilie smilie Yet another fantastic, well organised folk w/e. It must be the best location in England for a festival.
Apart from obviously enjoying the excellent 'programmed artists' both my wife and I also enjoyed the informal atmosphere and good quality, impromtu, folk music to be found in the beer tent.
Two minor criticisms, and they are minor, is that we, in our humble opinion, felt that the main tent could be a little bigger. We also felt that the main performers, on Saturday night, whilst brilliant were painfully loud to the extent that my chest cavity and beer can were actually reverberating to the beat. The bass was so overpowering you couldn't hear the subtle notes of, for example, the quality playing of the mandoline player with Shooglenifty
To re-emphasis though, we both thorougly enjoyed ourselves and are ticking off the days to next June.

MessageWhat an absolutely crackin weekend. Thankyou so much to the team who made it happen.
The weather was great, the local produce was excellent (Jez just about o.d'd on the burger stall!!), the folks were grand, and the music.... well, everywhere was stompin.
On the down.... sorry to say, but yer marquee wasn't big enough... all tickets were sold out when we got there - as happens with busy work & family lives, arrangements are not always possible in advance, so we thought turning up on the day would be fine. Lesson learnt for next year, cez la vie etc etc.
However, on a plus note, the jammin sessions in the little tent, the pubs and around the campsite, and the emphasis on local trades made up for the disappointment of no tickets. What a lovely relaxed, no hassle, free spirited event.
Cheers til next year. smilie
