| Message | Dear Sharon and the Band It is a few weeks now since the joint concert between LESPB and Derby Central SA. I have had several conversations with the Derby players by way of an appraisal. I have taken particular notice of the comments of Alan Losh, Alan Fox and Andrew Ward (remember Andy,it was he who sang "We are the reason"  and they have been warm and generous with their observations. There is within the Derby Citadel a unanimous view that it was a success and that the idea should be continued. I and Derby Central thank you all for the event.If the LESPB is "up for it" Chauffeur Plus is prepared to sponsor a similar event in 2008. The Derby people are keen to play with you again, and next time will be better. I am already doing homework to prepare for something and I shall do all I can to work with both bands. I shall be talking to you soon In the meantime may I wish you all LESPB a very happy and successful (contesting) and HEALTHY new year God bless you all Mike Richardson Chauffeur Plus (and ex LESPB; Solo Cornet don`t forget) |

| Message | I must take issue with the recent posting by 'Bando'. The Long Eaton team are a sincere, musically-accomplished and friendly bunch of individuals who made a brilliant contribution to the evening and whose musicianship and communication was greatly appreciated by both the audience and the Derby band. To get so wound-up and offensive (personal) is clearly to have missed the rationale for the evening and the message contained in the music. Have a very happy Christmas, Bando.....whoever you are. | Message | Went to your concert with the salvation army band tonight, I've got to say, I wonder what has happened to your normal high standards. You really were so so poor. Oh Holy Night? Hmm..... Must do better. The Army band, on the other hand, were tremendous! Your conductor looks like she's doing semaphore trying to land a plane. Sorry, but I've taken a real dislike to your band ever since they appeared on Midlands today talking about beating 'the best bands in the country' at Harrogate........... yeah, the best bands.... in the 3rd section!!! Get over yourselves! Absolute garbage. Goodnight. |
