MessageCorrection: KCBH-FM was sold by Art Crawford to Able Communications for 1.6 Million. Not 1 million. Art told me he bought it for 60 thousand, but John Davis remembers something like 45 thousand.

MessageAttended and graduated DM in August of 1980 with a Television Production diploma and an FCC 1st Class License. It was in the office building at La Brea and Hollywood. I think when I attended when it was going through a weird phase. I know something was wrong when former students were graduating and returning the next day to be instructors. I didn't care, I was just there to get my ticket, and I got it on the first try. I still give thanks because I would of never gotten my first TV job without that FCC ticket. I have started a Facebook Group for The Don Martin School of Broadcasting. Please repost all your stories there to guarantee a permanent web presence. If you don't use Facebook or think you are too old, do yourself a favor and start an account. You won't regret it.

MessageI didn't go to the Don Martin school but was in broadcasting with a close friend whose name was Claire Halversen who was an instructor at Don Martin's school. Does anyone remember Claire Halverson? He and I worked together in radio in San Francisco. He was a true broadcast professional!

MessageI attended in 1979, & got a Broadcast job in October 1979. Scott Elsworth was a very very giving teacher. He allowed me to go with him to his weekends @ a local station . Those trips where priceless to me, He barely knew me. People like him are few & far between in life. Dr.Parry is still inspirational in my thoughts & actions. A truly brilliant man.The best school of its kind.
