MessageMy dad's name is Clayton Frothingham. His brothers are Freeman(he had a wife and children), Uliss(Jack), Norman (his wife is Daisy), and Harold. They are from the Tullahoma(Wartrace or Bell Buckle) area of Tenn. and have lived in Detroit, Mi. They have a half brother, his name is John. He has lived in Milwaukee, Wi. and Detroit, Mi. I have some information on this part of the Frothingham's. I would like to talk with anyone that is related to these brothers. I believe that my dad has children from a different mother than mine. It would be great to find and talk with these people. My email is [email protected], please only serious people reply. Thank you.

MessageFun. I came looking for Eleanor Frothingham Smith.
I met her in 1972 or 73 at Middlesex Community College in Middletown, Ct. My mother's maiden name was Dorothy Frothingham Bullitt and my father's sister was Mary Frothingham Brinley. Yes, even if my parents had not married to each other they would have been distantly related all of Philadelphia, Pa., but three generations earlier from CT.

Messageyou may be interested in knowing that Alice Wellington Rolin's book "The Story Of a Ranch", is about her younger brother Edward W Wellington and his ranch, Monte Carneiro, which was approx 4-5 miles SW of the Frothingham ranch. It was one of the earliest large ranches in Ellsworh county. Later, Wellington helped develope the business district of Ellsworth. He came out from Boston in 1877 or 78 and my very well have known your ancestors while they were in Ellsworth county.

MessageI recently acquired a red leather bound book of expenses for a time period of 1870 -1873 kept by a Lizzie Frothingham, 9 Adams Street. It's quite a document. My problems are that I don't know where Lizzie was living. Can anyone help?

MessageThis is a great site. My father is Samuel Frothingham Manning, his father is James Higginson Manning, III (both of whom you have listed in the family tree). We traced part of our ancestry to Dundee, Scotland. Where apparently there is a castle for sale (as of Spring 2009) that was a home of a branch of the Frothinghams. We have a crest! Both my sister and I have longer second toes than the big toe. My father always told us that was a sign of royalty. Perhaps he was right! My father Sam, married Helga Schwagereit and has two daughters, Hilary Manning & Erika Manning. Both daughters are unmarried without children. Samuel has a sister Penelope, who is Penelope Manning Goodkind. Sam will be 81, April 19, 2011. I am always looking for new information to share with my father. Thank you for this site and anything you can share to make his 81st birthday spectacular. Google him. He's quite the illustrator. Thank you! - Hilary Manning.

MessageWhich Don Frothingham gave you the family history of the name from his Grandfather Donald Y Frothingham? I believe that was my father. I very much enjoyed your site.

Thank you so much.
Joseph K. Frothingham
