| Message | Hello family, I'm sure the reunion this weekend was good as always. I was thinking of all as I went about my day.. and as I go about this weekend filled with images of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and our soldiers far from American soil. Our large and diverse family has much to be thankful for-we are large enough in size, in heart and in resources to give to one another and take care of our own when needed; and to give to others in need. This reunion year marks forty years since PawPaw's passing-with my memories being of horsefly and meeting him sometimes as he walked home from the store to the big house... and memories certainly of Bigma's card playing and talking late at night at the kitchen table. Truly doesn't seem almost 20 years since Bigma left us, but then I look around at my kids, my grandkids and look in the mirror and realize the years went fast. Each of us have memories-memories that differ as each relationship with each family member is different. Memories that change from day to day as we continually build new ones. We have loved ones that we so miss, and so many loved ones that we reach out to every day. This email is reaching out and sending hugs and good thoughts to all. I missed being there and I know MOM missed being there with you all. I encourage you to send photos of your families to the website. It's a way to reach out and share. Love, Pam |

| Message | Just wanted to say hello to all that was able to be at Beverly's wedding last weekend. It was good seeing each of you. If you were not able to be there, you missed a truly wonderful event--- Bev was truly glowing and was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen! (And Uncle Gerald was looking pretty spiffy too!  ) The reception afterward was great. All of us Matthews girls (and you know who you are) had a blast! The dance floor was hot that night! Thanks Bev! | Message | Hello to all. This is my first visit to the site and have been overwhelmed by the emotions it has caused. I realize how blessed I am to be a part of this wonderful family. I enjoy visiting with everyone each year at the family reunion and wish we could get together more often (like we used to at Bigma's). My family spent Thanksgiving at Mom and Ralph's home and we ate everything. Remember when you would go to Bigma's house and she would cook those wonderful meals? Well, it is much like that at Mom's these days. I want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and a Merry Christmas and if you are in town and need a place to stay, call me. | Message | Today is Thanksgiving. I am reaching out and hugging all of you today and sending my love. Mom, Joy and I have a wonderful weekend with Wyvette a couple of week ago.. thanks to Al's buddy passes on Delta. I'm so pleased about Grady's progress, Ralph's improvement and Mom's trip to South GA. I hope the best for my David as he recuperates from his burns. I spoke to Aunt Alice today in IN to wish her a good day. I also called Sandy and her family to let her know I think of them. Please watch the website the next few weeks. I have more pictures of the family( not mine here, but all family) that Dustin found snooping throught my pictures here. Good thing he did! Sonya-who set up this website and is the webmistress, recently bought her first home-brand new-with her new hubby, Jerry. | Message | As I walked out to my car this morning getting ready to leave for work,the fresh cool chill in the air made me realize winter is on the way. It also made me think of our upcoming holidays. The first ofcourse is Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for Our Family. I can remember when we all use to gather at Big Ma's and to realize how big our family has expanded it is unbelievable. Childen, grandchildren and great great grandchildren which now spand over many states. I was trying to put a number to the Matthews family but i really do not know where to start. One thing I do know is, Big Ma is proudly watching over her very large family with a lot of Love in her heart for each one of us. As the chill of Winter slips up on us and as Thanksgiving passes I want to wish all of Our Family a special Christmas. You are all in my prayers, especially Aunt Chris, Uncle Grady, Ralph and my Daddy, Buddy. May God bless each one of us and keep our Family safe where ever they maybe.
