MessageHello Raphael,
Thank you so much for this invaluable resource. I really appreciate yours and all the authors' (especially Paul Younans) hard work and generosity. I found your site while searching the web for the most literal translation of the Bible I could buy. Unbelievably, I got it for free. Although, if Mr. Younans ever presents his tranlation in standard book form, I would be more than happy to pay for it.
I always wondered what happened to the Semitic disciples of Yeshua. It's nice to know they still exist.
Best wishes,
Kelly Crego

MessageRaphael,

Thanks very much for your book "Was the NT really written in Greek?" I was initially very skeptical when I downloaded this, and thought it would be an article of a few pages long. To my amazement, I found the book extremely convincing, with long detailed arguments and examples that I just can't argue against. I am now convinced, like you, that the NT was written originally in Aramaic.

I know Hebrew well, so although Aramaic is fairly new to me, I am learning it extremely fast, aided by some of the articles in your book, but also by the new Peshitta NT module in BibleWorks. Having tried to learn Greek as well, I can really understand the reasons why among Jews in the 1st century, Aramaic was easy to adopt with a background of Hebrew, and why Josephus had such problems learning Greek, and why Greek was regarded as a foreign, undesired, language.

MessageRecently heard Avi ben Mordechai here in Tauranga and he referred to the Aramaic Peshitta. Found your website via a search.

What a great website!!

Have downloaded a lot of the pdf files for further reading.

For some years now I have argued using logic that the NT was not originally written in Greek but rather Aramaic or Hebrew because that was the language of the Jews.
Why would Matthew or Mark or John or Paul or Peter or Jude write in Greek when they were writing in most cases to Jews?? It just didn't make sense to me.
It is therefore with great joy that I find a website such as this with all the evidence of the original language of the NT.

Although I am what one would call a Gentile I just love to here "Messianic" Jews preach the word - they just open up the word and reveal so much truth.

May God bless this ministry greatly and may all truth be revealed.

In Yeshua's name.

MessageMr. Lataster,

I just recently downloaded and began reading the manuscript Was the New Testament Really Written in Greek?. I only got through the first several pages of the chapter on Split Words, and has plainly confirmed what I have know for years. I am also a student of the Bible, but my study has been limited to the Greek text. I have heard that the NT was originally written in Aramaic, but only now has anyone taken the time to give the actual proof.

Thanks,

MessageHi Raphael,

I'm an Assyrian Aramaic speaking Christian who spent his youth shocked and saddened by the western worlds denial of the Peshitta and the importance of the Aramaic language and Eastern heritage of the Church.

Through centuries of persecution we have maintained our language and the early Church's teachings close to our hearts. While as a nation we no longer exist on the world map and I've even been denied and challenged by ignorant western teachers for even calling myself Assyrian (because apparently our nation and language are both dead!) we have kept this precious and rich language for the world to hear and study.

Lamsa was commissioned by the Patriarch Mar Eshai Shimon to translate the Peshitta into multiple languages and today we have people rediscovering the Aramaic origins of the Bible. I want to thank you for your efforts in shedding light on the language that God himself spoke, God bless.

MessageGreetings

I am a seminary student and quite by accident obtained a copy of Dr. Lamsa's translation recently. While writing an exegetical paper, I searched the Internet for some information related to Lamsa's work and came across your site. I was so intrigued that I stopped what I was doing and spent two hours checking out your resources, including your two books on Aramaic primacy.

I forwarded your books (and the weblink) to the seminary's NT professor who also is a noted languages and manuscripts scholar. Just recently in class we were discussing the matter of Jesus' genealogy in Matthew and Luke as well as one or two other points that you cover in your books. They certainly offer an interesting alternative to traditional interpretation - something I plan to explore in more detail when time allows.

Thank you for presenting your perspective and for providing your resources free of charge.

Blessings.

MessageThank you for publishing your work on the web. My eyes are opened now. For years I've read the greek version of the Bible and was ok with it but now that I've read the Aramaic version I have a better understanding of what Jesus was saying. Thumbs up to you. Keep up the good work.
