I have been burned out of modeling and weathering trains for years. I am thinking about seriously getting back into it. I started weathering rail cars back in the 70's using real rust and grime of the cars in a nearby rail yard. Your work is amazing and inspiring. I am a artist and cartoonist. Wanted to drop you a line And tell you your stuff is real Groovy Yeah!

My yearly check-in is a bit early this time. Even though the last model you posted on this website is from 2013, I hope you make a return at some point. You need to "MAKE WEATHERING GREAT AGAIN". Hehe. Hail!

Dude...it's my yearly post on mellowmike.com! I've given up forum life for now (too busy) but I think I'll still check this website at least once a year. There are serious things going on in the USA and I could drop off at any minute. Still, I will always remember one of the earliest "extreme weatherers"...Mr. Mellow Mike. Few understand this character because he's truly an outsider. My kind of guy. Later my friend. MUYA.

Mr.Mike. Along with you, our pasts are so similar it's freaky!!! Read the bio, was like reading my memoirs. Been doing weathered trains now since early 2K on EBay also. You were always "King of the mountain". I too have ventured to my studio and pushed the trains aside, but will be listing again soon. Hope to see your art again soon.

Hey Mike, last I heard was an article in A Railmag. What happed? I'll likely contract post-coital menopause if I can't achieve some degree of weathering that you have. You are one of the Elect! Huge Fan.

I come back every year whether you like it or not. Haha. WTF Mikey?! It's time to resume your excellent modeling. Things have been quiet around here. I miss the early days of "extreme weathering". See you in 2016 bro.

I really appreciate you modeling and your weathering skill and artistry.
I model the 60's when there was little graffiti, so I don't like the graffitied cars, but you do model the graffiti well as part of the weathering. I enjoy looking for your special signatures and other additions!
