I spoke to Rabbi Stiefel and asked him to publicize a lecture I am giving in memory of my father on Aug 23 2010 at the Young israel of Chomedey.It is called Baseball, Judaism and how to Win the Game of life. Has he sent you an email about this yet? I would greatly appreciate your publicizing this event. Hope you can make it too. | Message | I was a resident of Chomedey for many, many wonderful years - now the possessor of precious & cherished memories of my parents, my son growing up in a 'haimish' & safe community, lifelong friendships (Sept. 1959 - Sept. 2001). . . recently living in Toronto. What a great way of visiting, keeping up and resurfacing memories (when Elizabeth & Mercantile were not paved, when the High Holidays were celebrated in either a house or 2nd floor of a reception hall, when the only school was Martinvale, on the other side - etc., etc.) . . . . . . Thanks for the web site, the newsletters and most importantly - "Thanks for the Memories" . . . . |

| Message | In 1960 my family Louis & Ida Small moved to Chomedey, then St Martin. The next day, Rabbi Spiro was at our door asking my parents to join the new shul. My parents became very active in the shul and in 1967,in the beautiful sanctuary, Rabbi Spiro, Cantor Singer and Rev. Marmor officiated when my husband and I were married.We now live in Israel. I was so happy to see that the shul is still functioning and your web site is just beautiful.  |
