| Message | KROY:
It's almost 2008 and I'm on the internet seeking contact info to KROY Radio not realizing it vanished from the airwaves in 1982. I was raised on KROY. That was the closest we could get to a colored station. Most of what I know about music is based on growing up with the artists they played. That is how I first heard the beatles, Marvin Gaye, the Surpremes, Louis Armstrong, and Santana, and most everybody else I love to this day. But I wanted to know about Jimi Hendrix. My memory tells me it was 'Wild Thing' back in '67, but it may have been some other JH tune they initiated on KROY. I graduated from Burbank in '76 and left Sac in '77 basically, I've been on the east coast ever since. Anyway, I was just trying inquiring about the first Jimi Hendrix song KROY ever broadcast because that is when first connected to Jimi.
I'm not saying KROY was the greatest station in the world but that's all we had to listen to, or KRAK which played nothing but Country music, which we got tired of. Maybe I should contact KRAK. Do they exist? Do people still listen to country in Sacramento? Do they still have a station?
Sincerely, Luther Burbank, Class of '76
