MessageYour waterlily display pond tutorial is about to make a decades long dream come true!
For years I have yearned to replace the flower bed bordering my tiny yard with an iris and waterlily trough; but had concluded that expense and labor made this an impossible dream.
Once my youngest son turned 6, I figured it was finally safe to install a small water garden off my newly completed deck. I was excited for a couple weeks, before discovering I was pregnant. My dreams of a water garden were thwarted once again, and my deck with no railings was suddenly rendered impractical. I was crushed.
Your tutorial has renewed my enthusiasm for my garden, as I can now envision a raised display pond in place of an ill suited railing!

MessageGreat site, Sean. Could you possibly tell me where to get the correct infomation on how to divide and plant a hardy water lily? I want to plant with builders sand topped with pea gravel and fertilize with 'Lily Tabs'. This way I hope my "All in the sun in Kansas pond" won't have so much algea all summer. Thanks ever so much. Alice

MessageHi Sean. It's too hot[ heat index 105-115 mid day] to work outside in Thibodaux La,so I've been cruising the net. I started doing some hybridizing last year.So far several nice night bloomers, but nothing special. This year I've crossed several blue species and cultivars.Hoping for a blue flower without any traces of purple. Have several seedlings with three or four floating leaves.I'll post results on American Ponders.

MessageLooking to find ways to control aphids on my waterlillies without removing them from the pond. An organic spray would be nice. I have fish (platys), snails, and the pond is host to dragonfly nymphs.

MessageHi Sean

It is so amazing to know one can grow waterlily in dixie cup. I was thinking of growing the miniature waterlily in a plastic container as I don't have a pond. Only live in an apartment. Obviously I would need to put the dixie cup thingy in a bigger plastic pond. Can you advice how big the plastic pond need to be?

thanx
Sieh
